let's make homemade pizza sauce!

hello my darlings!

So, let's talk about red sauce. I don't think I have met a red sauce I didn't like. Ketchup? Yep! Pasta sauce? Yep! Sriracha? Yep! Almost any hot sauce...yep! Pizza sauce? Definite yes!

However, this pizza sauce is actually to die for. The secret ingredient is Epicure's Marinara or Margherita mix. Seriously good!

Vegan, Spiced Pizza Sauce

  • 1 can organic diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 Tbsp Epicure's margherita mix
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • oil
To start, heat oil on medium-low in a large saucepan. When hot add the margherita mix, red chili flakes and garlic. Mix until fragrant, about a minute or so, making sure not to burn the garlic. Next, add can of tomatoes, undrained! Turn heat up to medium-high and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Sprinkle the sugar on top and mix. Turn down to medium and leave to simmer, uncovered, mixing periodically. When majority of liquid has evaporated (about 20 minutes or so) transfer to vitamix/blender and blend until smooth. You're done!

Now, go make a pizza to slather this on!
