let's make dinosaur planters!

Hey guys!

Another DIY for all of you! I'm in love with my new dino planter! He's a unique item that looks great showing off my air plants. He was super easy and fun to make, too.

Dinosaur planter

  • Old child's dinosaur toy
  • Spray paint - colour of choice!
  • Exacto Knife
  • Plant

All you have to do is take your exacto knife and slice a hole on the back of your plastic dinosaur. If you're buying one from the store for this DIY, try to choose one that isn't too stiff. Now just spray paint your little dude and when he's done plunk an air plant in him.

Airplants are the best because they are SO easy to take care of. Trust me, you can't kill one. They feed off of the dust particles in the air. Once every 2 weeks all you have to do is soak them in water for at least a few hours or so and then leave out on a paper towel to try. That's all! Alternatively, you could always throw some soil in there and plant a little succulent.

I'd love to make a matching gold and bronze guy in different sizes. I think this would be a super fun craft to do with kids and use paintbrushes and paint instead of a spray can. Just make sure you do the cutting first, haha! It would be such a great way to recycle old toys and teach kids how to care for a plant.

Rawr! What animal planter would you make?
