let's make gold bubble glasses!

My first DIY post, hurrah! I am so excited to share with you these beautiful & playful gold bubble glasses!

I had originally seen these at chapters and fell madly in love. However, I wasn't madly in love with the price...$35 for a set of four. Ouch! Luckily while thrift shopping I found these wonderful glasses with a gold-hue. Perfect! And for only 40 cents a pop I couldn't say no.

These were super simple and a lot of fun to make! I think they would look great in silver too.

Gold bubble glasses

Wash your glasses in hot water and soap and dry completely.
Next, clean the outside surface with alcohol. You want to remove as much oil/residue as possible. Allow to air dry.
Put on your gloves and start your bubbles!
Big one here, little one here, medium one here.
Leave the bubbles at the top fairly sparse.
When finished, let dry for at least 2-4 hours.
Place in oven, set to 325 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.
When 20 minutes are up, turn heat off and open oven door.
Allow to cool.

**Baking times may vary, keep a close eye on them while they are in the oven, if they are baked for too long or too hot the gold bubbles will turn silver. It still looks nice, but if you're like me and really want gold glasses, be diligent!***

The thing I love most about this project is that it's imperfect! Each glass will be unique!

Be careful while washing these. As are most things that are "permanent" they can start to show their wear and tear. I plan to wash mine lightly in warm water and air dry. I don't recommend putting them in the dishwasher.

These glasses make me think of new years eve. I can't wait to come up with some festive cocktails to sip out of them. To me, they scream champagne & pomegranates! Looking forward to showing them off on my bar cart :)
